Great performances of EVENT at the Pavillon Noir in Aix-en-Provence.Though Serge Teyssot-Gay and I have been playing together in different groups for 10 years, It was working with Robert Swinston and the CNDC dancers from Angers that has made us into the duet that we call NACARAT.

As far as will fill up the time

This is the evocative title of Zad Moultaka’s new piece for birbyne. Radio France commissioned it for me. A beautiful new work now exits thanks to Anne Montaron and her program Alla Breve.

Thanks to the great team at the Quinconces theater in Le Mans, Serge Teyssot-Gay, Laure Saint-Hillier, Christophe Hauser and I were able to continue the work started by our dear friend Etienne Bultingaire. The show is now called FLYING CARPET. It’s full of incredible images and sounds.

Carol Robinson, Mr Barbe bleue, Les Monts de Reuil

Always a pleasure when a new piece comes to life after so many months spent writing it. In this case, Mr Barbe bleue, a pocket opera for the baroque ensemble “Les Monts du Reuil”, with staging by Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola.

A highlight of 2015 was working with Decibel in Perth on OCCAM HEXA II, a new piece for flute, clarinet, viola, cello and percussion co-signed by Eliane Radigue and myself. Wonderful experience making this music come to life with such a fine and receptive group of musicians. Thanks to Cat, Lindsay, Aaron, Tristen, and Stuart !!

VALVA     For so many years, I dreamt of being in this place where Giacinto Scelsi spent his childhood. Came here to film part of Sebastiano d’Ayala Valva‘s new documentary.

Powerful and magical place. It explains so much.

This summer I’ve been spending a lot of time composing, so it was nice to take a little break and perform at the Curbit Festival.

Great ideas, great people, great place…
