First rehearsals of my new piece Can You See with the extraordinary TrioPolycordes and the Ensemble vocal Sequenza 9.3 conducted by Catherine Simonpietri. It is part of a production called 50/50 Woodstock which features premieres and arrangements by Justina Repečkaitė, Fabien Cali, Claude Barthélémy and myself. The tour starts on March 9, 2023.

Thanks to Archipel Nocturne (Violaine Gestalder, Christelle Séry and Louis-Michel Marion), The Weather Pieces will soon include a trio inspired by snow. Source recordings were made in January at the CCAM in Vandoeuvre-les-Nancy, partner for this project. Blanc de Neige. The electronic part was conceived by Charles Bascou.

Matisse : Jazz was premiered at the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto. This hour-long piece for dancer – the extraordinary Youngdoo An – and bass clarinet with live electronics – played and written by me – was inspired by Matisse’s book of lithographs from 1947 and produced by Jiro Nemoto with support from the Sasakawa Foundation.

La Nuit blanche at the Philharmonie in Paris, was the perfect occasion to premiere L’illusion des étangs, my new piece for birbyne and string quartet. The wonderful Quatuor IMPACT played beautifully. It’s always a pleasure to work with them!

Are you… my piece for guitar and three male singers was premiered by the excellent Jean-Marc Zwellenreuther (Trio Polycordes) and Steve Zheng, Jean-Sebastien Nicolas, Xavier Margueritat (Sequenza 9.3) at the Cave d’Argenteuil.

This 6’ piece is a prelude for the larger 50/50 Woodstock project with ensembles Trio Polycordes / Sequenza 9.3 and composers Claude Barthelemy, Fabien Cali, Justina Repeckaïte and myself.
