My new choir composition Così bella will be performed by Spirito.
True to its commitment to contemporary vocal creation, the Chœur Spirito – National Center for Vocal Art continues to support choir directors by offering them a space for reflection and practice around today’s artistic challenges.
Under the guidance of Thibaut Louppe and the singers of Spirito, participants will tackle a rich and varied program, alternating between a cappella pieces and works with piano, traversing different eras and styles. The journey will stretch from Brahms’ gypsy songs to Stravinsky’s rural landscapes, from Holst’s popular colors to Milhaud’s grandeur of the Rhône.
As the highlight of this academy, participants will have the privilege of working on and conducting a piece commissioned especially for the occasion by French-American composer Carol Robinson.
