People are finally talking more about women composers and their work, thanks in part to the book Compositrices L’égalité en acte, published in February 2019. I had the pleasure of participating in round table discussions on the subject hosted by the Festival of Aix-en-Provence in July, and by the Montpellier Opera Orchestra in November. There is much to be done!
How wonderful to finally share newly composed pieces for birbyne with the Lithuanian audience in Marijampoles. World and Lithuanian premieres of works by Jürg Frey, Zad Moultaka, Janis Petraskevics, Nadir Vassena and me. Lovely!
Just spent a fabulous week in Mexico City, thanks to Alexander Bruck-Santos, IFAL and the Italian Cultural Institute. Two concerts, a masterclass and a film presentation!
Lovely audiences.
There is now a new teaser for my piece NACARAT, with the wonderful Serge Teyssot-Gay. It’s # 2 in THE WEATHER PIECES cycle.
A fine avant premiere of Pitter-Patter, with Laurence Chave, at the Galerie Univer.
The newest WEATHER PIECE.
OCCAM DELTA XIII
Since 2011, the great electronic music pioneer, Éliane Radigue, has devoted herself entirely to the ever-evolving cycle called OCCAM OCEAN. This essential music consists of solos made in close collaboration with carefully chosen musicians. Later, the solos are grouped into duos, trios, quintets… forming an acoustic extension of her magical electronic works. Carol Robinson – bass clarinet, Hélène Breschand – harp, Louis-Michel Marion – 5 string double bass
There is now a video excerpt.
Premiered at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris as part of the Tomas Saraceno’s installation ON AIR for the Festival d’Automne à Paris. Eliane Radigue’s OCCAM DELTA XVIII avec Yannick Guédon – baryton, Carol Robinson – bass clarinet, Bertrand Gauguet – alto saxophone, Julia Eckhardt – viola
Today is the official screening of Sebastiano d’Ayala Valva’s new film on Giacinto Scelsi. Le premier mouvement de l’immobilier, Studio 104 at Radio France.
